Review : As we all know and can directly predict from its name that this story is a tribute to Greatest Maratha Warrior and King Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Story takes place in village ‘Kharbujewaadi’. This village is a land of many a ‘Mavla’ who served Shivaji Maharaj with great valour. The courage, grit and sacrifice that this village had to offer, played a major role in King Shivaji’s fight for ‘Hindavi Swarajya’. But now , gone are those days. Situation is different today.
Today, Kharbujewadi is much developed modern town. Their eternal loyalty to the great maratha king Shivaji, forever on exhibit, the village is strewn with shops named : Shivaji Vada Pav Centre, Jijamatata Saree Corner, Sambhaji Pan Shop, Tanaji Medicals etc. Unfortunately their love for their beloved king is limited to the signboards, slogans on the cars and saffron coloured tilak on the foreheads. And this is the main success of story. It ticks most required and important part or issue youth needs to know. The most important symbol of the Hindavi Swajaya, the forts of Shivaji Maharaj are long forgotten. The once majestic fort overlooking this buzzing town lays in ruins, tainted with tobacco laden spit, garbage, empty beer bottles and lovers declaring their love for each other on the same walls where the brave mawlas spilt their blood for Swarajya. But there is a ray of hope.Suryabhan Tanaji Deshmukh aka Nanasaheb is the current Sarpanch of kharbujewaadi, two cronies Pandurang Tukaram aka Panda and Shivram Abaji Vahadne aka Shiva. Nana an ardent follower of Shivaji Maharaj wants to restore the decaying fort for the people to remember their legacy in all its glory. He has designed a plan. What is this outrageous plan? Is it going to work? Will their dream to restore this fort become a reality? All this will be revealed in ‘Baghtos kay mujra kar!’
What I loved most about the plot is first time someone made effort to tick this issue and carve it to save from being obsolete. Full marks to Director-writer Hemant Dhome for this effort. Kudos.
Come to the Performances. Jitendra Joshi is sensationl here. His all hard work, dedication, passion and in film , his love and respect fro Shivaji Maharaj , he nailed each and every bit of it. Aniket Vishwasrao too impresses you here. From his voice to facial expressions to break down in emotional scenes all are praiseworthy. Hemant Dhome as villain nailed his performance. though I haven’t seen him before in such roles, but while watching movie that doesn’t even come in mind. Especially one will be surprised to know that he plays comic roles often. Vikram Gokhle, Akshay tanksale and all supporting cast played their roles very well and made their presence felt.
What’s Good : Story , Performances , Cinematography , Background score, Dialogues and Direction.
What’s Not : Screenplay feels bit stretched in second half , Absence of Powerful Music that invokes goosebumps (which is the need of such genres)
Verdict : Baghtos kay Mujra kar is a definitely a must watch
for everyone. But I’d specially suggest it to the youth as they need such films the most.I’m going with three and a half out of Five for Baghtos Kay Mujra Kar.
